ARTspace of Lansing is a Nonprofit organization that provides education, promotion, mentorship, and affordable opportunities to local artisans, and makers in the community.
ARTspace has now been operating for one year, and became a nonprofit in the state of Michigan, in April 17thof 2019. We held our first pop-up market at the Foster Community Center in July of 2018. Since then, we have worked with many different organizations & non-profit groups such as KCS Angels and The Happiest Homeless Guy, to help support their needs and to work together towards common goals.
We accomplish our mission by offering low cost, or free classes. By doing this, we open the minds of young children that may not have been able to take an art class. This helps a whole new generation fall in love with art.
We offer lower vendor fees for pop up markets so artists, and makers, have an opportunity to get their products seen. This also helps the community find new pieces of art that they might not be able to see otherwise. This brings new art back into our community.
We help other Nonprofits through pop up markets. We either donate part of the vendor fees, or we offer free admission with the donation of canned goods, or clothing.
